PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkaline cell superior in a long term storage characteristic and having a high energy density. SOLUTION: This is the alkaline cell having a positive electrode 2 to contain a ferrate (VI) as an active substance, a negative electrode 4 arranged opposing to the positive electrode 2, a separator 3 to insulate the negative electrode 4 and the positive electrode 2, and an alkaline electrolytic solution intervening at least at the separator 3, and the separator 3 is constituted of a polyamide resin material, a polyolefinic resin material or glass fiber system.
