PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem raised by the conventional drive method of a solid-state image pickup device used for auto-focusing, that the current consumption of the image pickup device is large, because the charge detecting sections of effective pixels and the pixels for monitoring are separately provided and reset drains, reset gates, the drains of reset transistors, etc., are boosted by means of boosting circuits, when they are driven.
