PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for distributing the system definition information of cluster software by making it possible to set system definition information from one host computer in a cluster type computer system constituted of a plurality of host computers, and to add a host computer to the cluster type computer system at a low cost with a simple mechanism without stopping the operation of the system. SOLUTION: System definition information is stored in a shared disk 16 by either a system definition information registering means 22a or 22b installed in one of a plurality of host computers 12a and 12b of a cluster type computer system 10. Then, cluster software 24a and 24b to be started by the respective host computers 12a and 12b reads the system definition information stored in the shared disk 16, and operates based on the system definition information.
