PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for driving a Peltier element by which the power consumption of the element can be reduced and the cooling and refrigerating efficiency of the element can be improved. SOLUTION: The driving power supplied to the Peltier element 10 is impressed by using a unipolar pulse and the frequency of the pulse is set at >=100 kHz. It is preferable to set the duty ratio of the pulse at 80-90%.
