PURPOSE: A gift or lottery ticket service system and method is provided to enable a user to purchase a gift or lottery ticket and to receive a service according to usage results over an ATM(Automatic Teller Machine) connected with a network. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises steps of allowing a user to insert a card into an ATM(S100), offering a transaction selection screen on the ATM(S110), checking if the user requests purchasing a gift or a lottery ticket(S130, S132), offering a window for enabling the user to input the number of the ticket(S140, S134), settling a payment for the tickets if the user inputs the number of the tickets(150), and outputting the tickets according to the input ticket number(S160). The ATM requests an inquiry to a bank server if a balance in a user account is enough to make a payment and conducts an account transfer from the user account to an account of a gift or a lottery ticket service company in the case that the user uses a cash card. The ATM requests the card company server to pay the tickets for the ticket service company and to withdraw the payment amount with a service fee from the user account in the case that the user uses a credit card.
