PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication system or method for transmitting a message to a traveler especially by using the place or positional information of a wireless mobile unit. SOLUTION: The radio communication system receives information from the wireless mobile unit related to an information category and judges that the unit has entered an area including a site related to the information category. Then, information peculiar to the site and the category is received by location- based message server located in the center. When the traveler enters an area including a mall, the wireless mobile unit receives information peculiar to the site and the category such as information related to sale in the mall. Thus, desired information peculiar to the area where the traveler is located is received.
