PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display the residual time of reproducing to the end of recorded AV data during the reproducing of an SVCD. SOLUTION: An information file including overall reproducing time information of the set SVCD is read out before the start of reproducing time display processing. A leading sequence header and an SCR are acquired and an STC is matched on the basis of the SCR in a step S2. Each part of the SVCD is set corresponding to information stored in the acquired sequence header and reproducing is started from a position designated by a user in a step S3. The current STC value is acquired in a step S4. The difference between preliminarily read overall reproducing time information and the current STC value is calculated as the residual time of reproducing in a step S5.
