PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in a conventional image processing system for a parking area that a background is not renewed even when 'foreign material rapidly appearing and hard to disappear' such as a rut that becomes a permanent noise is generated. SOLUTION: In a shape change speed determining processed by an image processing CPU circuit, a difference image between frames is produced by comparing a previous image and a present image in a step 13. In a step 14, if the difference image between frames has no difference, the process is shifted to a step 18 and a difference is determined as a rut or a temporary noise. In the step 14, if the difference exists, the process is shifted to steps 15, 16, and if the difference disappears within a specified time, process is shifted to a step 18 and the difference is determined as a rut or a temporary noise. Therefore, 'foreign material rapidly appearing and hard to disappear' such as a rut is prevented from becoming a permanent noise, so that the accuracy in vehicular determination can be improved. |
