SETTING OF INTEGRATED CIRCUIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time for developing a new device when aiming system on chip design. SOLUTION: The integrated circuit including plural pieces of data processing circuit elements 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16 is provided with a setting data memory 12. In initializing the integrated circuit 2, setting data is read from a setting data memory 12 and used for setting a setting program software 26 for controlling mutual operation between application program software 18, 20, 22 and the circuit 2. The setting data is formed automatically from hierarchical description, which can be read by humans, of the circuit 2 in the form of ASN.1 description.
