PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording control system for storage device capable of efficiently using data by appropriate backup processing and without generating the unavailability of the storage of data. SOLUTION: In a first monitor time, a monitor terminal 10 analyzes a recording state signal F1 from a storage device 12. When an non-backup data capacity C3 is not less than an upper limit, a recording control terminal 11 performs the backup of a part of the non-backup data so that a backup data capacity can be increased from C2 to C2+C4 and the non-backup data capacity can be decreased from C3 to C3-C4. In a second monitor time, when a dead area capacity D2 is not more than a lower limit as the result of the monitoring of the monitor terminal 10, the backup data capacity can be decreased from D2 to D2-D4 by the recording control terminal 11, and the dead area capacity is increased from D1 to D1+D4. Thus, it is made possible to release a manager from any workload to hold a prescribed capacity in the non-recording area of the storage device 12 to smoothly store data without generating the failure of the storage of data and to efficiently use the data by appropriate backup processing.
