PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an increase in a wasteful power consumption in a portable information terminal equipment having a communicating function and to allow a video to be easily observed. SOLUTION: The portable information terminal equipment comprises a direct- view display unit 110 and a virtual image display unit 107 provided in a portable information terminal equipment body 101. The unit 110 and the unit 107 are switched in response to a using state of the terminal equipment. That is, when simple character information such as a telephone number of the like is displayed, the unit 110 having a small size and a low resolution is used to suppress its power consumption. Only when information having a high resolution such as image information or the like is necessary, the unit 107 having the high resolution is used. The unit 107 is provided in a flip unit 105, which can be foldably stored in the body 101. Only when the unit 105 is drawn and stood, a power source of the unit 107 is turned on. |
