PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a client equipment which uses a service connected via a network to server equipment which provides the service, to identify the server equipment. SOLUTION: An arbitrary character string is inputted to the server equipment 10, and registered as an equipment identification name in the equipment 10 (S1), and the identification name is transmitted via a network to a client equipment 30 connected to the network (S3). The equipment 30 retrieves the available server equipment 10 by using an equipment selection program 31a in the equipment 30, and displays the identification name obtained from the equipment 10 in a user interface 33 of the equipment 30 as an equipment selection menu, and a user 60 selects and identifies the identification name to be used (S4). Also, an equipment identification event is communicated from the server equipment 10 to the equipment 30, and the display state of the display part of the identification name corresponding to the event of the equipment selection menu displayed at the equipment 30 is changed so that the server equipment 10 can be identified. |
