PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scattering particle detector using a laser oscillator which can efficiently use a laser light for excitation and maximize an output. SOLUTION: To overlap the intensity distribution (mode) of a laser light La radiated from a laser medium 13 with that of a laser light for excitation radiated from a semiconductor laser 11, the laser light La radiated from a laser oscillator that is provided with a means for adjusting the fitting position of the semiconductor laser 11 and a means for adjusting the fitting position of a condensing lens 12, is emitted to a passage formed of a sample fluid to form a particle detection area 10, and particles contained in the particle detection area 10 are detected by receiving scattered lights that are produced through irradiation of the laser light La. |
