PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time needed to search for a medium. SOLUTION: This medium retrieval support device which supports a search for a specific medium among multiple media is equipped with an allocating means which allocates a unique image to each medium corresponding to characters to be added to the medium when the characters are inputted, a storage means which stores the inputted characters and allocated image in a database so that they correspond to each other, an extracting means which extracts the image stored corresponding to the characters by referring to the database when the characters stored in the database are inputted, and an output means which outputs the image extracted by the extracting means.
