PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a geared motor, capable of ensuring on and off operations of a clutch by using a magnetic induction method such as a clutching operating mechanism for turning on and off a clutching means, and by increasing the magnetic induction force, without making a magnet and an induction ring large. SOLUTION: This geared motor comprises an output shaft 3, of which the rotation is driven by connection to a rotor 11, a clutching means 22 for engaging and disengaging the coupling of the output shaft 3 and the rotor 11, and a clutch operating mechanism 5 for engaging and disengaging the clutching means 22. The clutching operating mechanism 5 comprises either a ring-shaped magnet 11c, rotating in synchronization with the rotor 11 or a nonmagnetic conductive ring 16a, one part rotating in synchronism with the other part by magnetic induction, and a back-yoke ring 16b of magnetic material, arranged at a position with the nonmagnetic conductive ring 16a being sandwiched by the ring-shaped magnet 11c.
