摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device by which color calibration can be performed simply and with high accuracy without using an LUT(Look Up Table) but by using the correction factor of additive color mixture. SOLUTION: In the device which predicts chromatic values, such as the XYZ tristimulus values of the color displayed on the image processor from the signal level of each digital input signal, such as RGB signals inputted into a CRT, etc., and then carries out the color calibration, the coefficient of the additive mixture of colors which are the indices of the characteristics of the additive mixture of colors is calculated for every predetermined signal level of the RGB signals, and the correction factor of additive mixture of colors is generated by a method using the average, minimum value, etc., of inputted RGB signal levels as the argument of the correction factor of additive mixture of colors or by a method taking the weight average by employing, as the weighting factors, weighting factors decided previously or RGB signal levels. The predicted chromatic value is multiplied by the resultant correction factor of additive mixture of colors to obtain a new predicted chromatic value, and the color calibration is carried out by using this new predicted chromatic value and the group of the digital input signal. Moreover, the color calibration of the direction from the chromatic value to the RGB signals can also be performed by using conversion of the inverse direction.
