PURPOSE: Provided are a method and apparatus for growing bean sprouts, which eliminate the necessity for frequently watering bean sprouts and enable the bean sprouts to be grown without fine roots. The apparatus makes it easy to cultivate and generates comfortable indoor environment constantly by suitably controlling indoor humidity. CONSTITUTION: A jar(12) for growing bean sprouts is placed in a water vessel(11) and a loess ball(15) is disposed on the bottom of the jar. Loess sand is laid on the bottom of the jar with a thickness of 5cm to form a first sand layer(16). Soybeans are laid on the fist sand layer to form a bean sprout layer(17). Loess sand is laid on the bean sprout layer with a thickness of 3 to 5cm to form a second sand layer(18). Water is supplied to the jar to a water level of 5 to 10cm. The upper part of the jar is covered with a black fabric to block out sunlight. |
