PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remarkably decrease the number of divisions of each signal concerning the same total data rate to be processed inside an optical signal switch. SOLUTION: In an optical signal switch 112 with which output parts at least as many as input parts are provided and further a means is provided for transmitting an input signal to at least one of the output parts and in which each input part receives information for modulating the optical carrier waves of different wavelengths, means 12611, 12612m..., 126NB for organizing entire received carrier waves to separated carrier wave subsets G11, G1B,..., GN1,..., GNB and means 1291, 1292,..., 129NB for totally selecting the carrier waves in the same carrier wave subset are provided. Therefore, information corresponding to each of the subsets of optical carrier waves is totally transmitted to the same subset output part. By switching carrier waves for each subset, a higher signal quality can be provided in the output part while limiting the number of constituting components in the case the amount of switching information is identical. |
