<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device for which the parts size and the occupying area of a current limiting resistor on a mounting substrate are reduced and which can reduce the size, weight, and manufacturing cost of electronic equipment and, at the same time, can make the equipment compact when the device is used in the equipment. SOLUTION: A light emitting device is provided with a light emitting diode LED to which a pulse current is supplied from a current supplying route and a positive temperature coefficient thermistor which is connected in series with the diode in the current supplying route. The parts size of the device is reduced by using the thermistor as the current limiting resistor.</p> |
