PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly and surely transfer an article to a basket in the front side, when sold, even when the article stored under a suspended condition is thin in thickness. SOLUTION: This article for storing and delivering device 4, in which the article S is stored in an article passage under the suspended condition, and by which the article S located in the frontmost position is delivered frontward from the article passage when sold, is provided with a the basket 111 which is moved toward the front side of the article passage at sale, and a chute 53 for transferring the article S to be deliverd from the article passage to the basket 111 by sliding the article S frontward. The chute 53 is provided in the front end part of a bottom face of the article passage, and has a chute body which is set freely slidably between a stand-by position and a transfer position positioned in the front side of the stand-by position, and a switch chute driving mechanism for driving the chute body from the stand-by position, to the transfer position when the article is sold.
