PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pedometer usable for the both of a user of a wheelchair and a physically unimpaired person. SOLUTION: This wheelchair pedometer is provided with an inner sensor 9 in the inside of a wheelchair pedometer body 6 and an external sensor system 3 as a body motion sensor. The external sensor system 3 detects the rotation of the wheel of the wheelchair, a magnet 1 is disposed in a spoke part of the wheel, and a lead switch proximity sensor 2 is attached to the frame part of the wheelchair body. A signal from the lead switch proximity sensor 2 is inputted into an input jack 5 of the wheelchair pedometer body 6 via a cable 4. A terminal of the input jack 5 automatically changes over between the inner sensor 9 and the external sensors system 3. When used by the healthy subject, detachment of the signal cable 4 from the input jack 5 allows the inner sensor 9 to function. When used by the user of the wheelchair, the connection of the signal cable 4 to the terminal of the input jack 5 can cut off the inner sensor 9.
