PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a data transfer operation where the high-speed property of a semiconductor memory is maximally utilized. SOLUTION: A semiconductor memory is provided with semiconductor memory blocks 3 having a semiconductor memory array 31, an interface circuit 2 for exchanging data with an external device and a processor 1 (or a controller) for controlling them. Storage data signals and control signals are inputted/ outputted via mutually independent bus circuits 51 and 52 to the semiconductor memory blocks 3 and the input/output operation of storage data to/from the memory blocks 3 and the control operation are processed by pipeline.
