A melting device comprises: (a) a melting vat (1) receiving a molten bath; (b) a feed orifice (11) for introducing pure primary materials; (c) under a vault an extraction orifice (5); (d) and a heating installation. The heating installation comprises some heating elements notably electrodes (17.1, 17.2, 17.3, 17.4) fitted to the vat at the level of the bath and an agitation installation (30) for agitating the molten bath, introducing and mixing into the bath regularly the material from the mass floating on the surface of the bath. Independent claims are also included for a method for the fabrication of glass and the application of this method to the fabrication of glass for liquid crystal display screens. |
