PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which secures necessary confidentiality even in an output with a redesignated printer when abnormality takes place in receiving a print job in a confidential mode and which is also easily operated. SOLUTION: When a printer cannot presently print out a print job of a confidential print mode when the print job is received, the print job is transferred to another printer. In such a case, only when the printer of the transfer destination exists in the vicinity and also can immediately print out the print job (#14: No), the print job is transferred in a forced print mode (#17). Meanwhile, when the printer of the transfer destination exists in a distant place or when the printer cannot immediately print out the print job even though the printer exists in the vicinity (#13: No and #14: Yes), the print job is retransferred in the confidential print mode (#16). |
