PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automated method for processing of an image having pixels that emphasizes a main subject of the image. SOLUTION: A system and method for an automatic alteration to an image having pixels are disclosed. An image is segmented into regions, whose various features are extracted and used for the computation of reliability factors or belief values. The belief values are collected in a belief map used to specify how pixels are altered. Various colors and survey values of the pixels are altered in a given method to emphasize a main object in the image. The emphasis is given in a binary form or as a value gradient. The main subject is emphasized or a secondary or background subject is emphasized. The system is executable on different computer systems. |
