PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct not only an over-current protecting operation but also an over-heat protecting (temperature protecting) operation by preventing deterioration of a noise terminal voltage of an electric appliance with built-in IPM. SOLUTION: A controller of the electric appliance with built-in IPM comprises a microcomputer 12 for controlling a motor 5 as a load, an IPM 4 for driving the motor 5 with a control signal from the microcomputer 12, and a temperature operation means (fin thermo) 10 having mounted a heat sink for radiating the heat of IPM 4 between the over-current protection terminal FO side of IPM 4 and the ground (GND in the IPM 4 side). Condition of a fault signal and condition of the fin thermo 10 are inputted to a protection input terminal of the microcomputer 12 via an electrical insulation means (photo- coupler circuit) 11 to realize the over-current protecting and temperature protecting operations. |
