Inductive non-contact operating device (10) for controlling an implant (20) with an electronic apparatus (21). The device comprises a microcontroller and display with an inductive source producing a modulated electromagnetic signal so that byte data can be sent to the implant. The device also has a receiver (16) for detection and processing signals originating from the implant. An Independent claim is made for an implant, especially a gastric constriction device that is able to both transmit and data. Data transmitted can be patient data etc. The implant has a microcontroller and means for opening and closing a gastric opening.
