PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk cartridge enabling a user to utilize one face of the cartridge as a label affix enabled area after ending processing such as recording and edition. SOLUTION: The disk cartridge is provided with a magneto-optical disk 5 arranging a clamping plate on its center part, a lower half 3 rotatably arranging the disk 5, forming a center aperture part for facing the clamping plate to the external and forming an optical pickup aperture part 16 for facing a part of a signal recording area of the disk 5 to the external along the inner and outer peripheries, a recording upper half 2 arranged detachably from the lower half 3 and forming a magnetic head aperture part 15 on a position opposed to the aperture part 16, disk protection member 76 arranged on the lower half 3, forming an aperture part 77 corresponding to the aperture part 15 and capable of protecting the disk 5, and a shutter member 18 arranged on the lower half 3 to open/close the aperture part 16. The upper half 2 can be exchanged with a reproducing upper half 80 on which the magnetic head aperture part 15 is not formed.
