METHOD AND DEVICE FOR GENERATING FRACTAL PATTERN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate fractal patterns in square area units. SOLUTION: One of two couples of vertexes positioned on the diagonals among the four vertexes of a square area are selected, the value obtained by adding a noise quantity to the mean value of the two vertexes in the couple is regarded as the pixel value VC at a center point PC, and four square areas which include the sides of the original square as diagonals and the center PC as one vertex of a common side and each have one side of W/21/2 are prescribed as shown Fig. 22B; and one of two couples of vertexes positioned on the diagonals of the four small squares (rhombic area) slanting at 45 deg. in the diagonal directions of the original square are selected and the value obtained by adding the noise quantity to the mean value of the two vertexes in the couple is regarded as the center pixel value of the rhombic area. Similarly, this processing is repeated until one side of a square area corresponds to one pixel.
