A keyboard (10) has a body (12), a cable (16) and connecting plug (18) for connecting the keyboard to a computer. Body (12) has keys (20) situated thereon in a standard keyboard formation. Body (20) also has a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) screen (22) and loud speaker (24) which is connected to a voice synthesiser chip. Keys (20) function in the same way as a standard computer keyboard, but with the added function that a letter or symbol equivalent to the key pressed is displayed on LCD screen (22). If the voice synthesiser function is also required, speaker (24) produces an audio signal representing the key that has been pressed, for example "saying" the letter that has just been typed. |
