With the aid of a step pedal (2), a torsion shaft (21) is rotated and upon which two concentric overlapping casings (22, 24), with slits (23, 25), are found. There are two coils (26) firmly set in the pedal-crank support housing (18) together with the torsion shaft's casings. After summation and loading of the torsion shaft, the slit form of the casings is changed such that the slit's coverings are either reduced or expanded. An induced eddy stream is generated, via the coils, which is more or less as strong as the energy withdrawn from the coils. The withdrawn energy is the torque that is supplied, via the measuring and control cable (7), and evaluated by the calculator (6). Hence the expended force from the multi-step chain (14) is fully optimised and switched.
