Separator comprises a casing (1); a shaft (4) defining an inner gas chamber (5) concentrically arranged in the casing; and two lids (2, 3) for closing both ends of the casing. Each lid has openings (14, 16, 17, 19) and a region of the casing is formed as a tube base (21). Chambers (7, 7') cover this region and regions of the casing, the chambers having an opening (18). Tubes (9) are fixed in the tube base and are arranged vertical to the casing. The tubes extend through openings (11) into the inner gas chamber and are partially formed as membrane tubes (13). The region of the tubes formed as membrane tubes is arranged in the inner gas chamber. Preferred Features: The region of the tubes formed as membrane tubes is in the form of a gas-tight ceramic membrane applied to a support tube. The membrane conducts oxygen ions and electrons.
