A dispersion converter for the conversion of a signal to or from the process, using a broadband light beam for information transmission. The broadband light beam is broken down by dispersion into discrete light wave beams, and these discrete light beams are used as information signals from- or to- the process by corresponding conversion and when necessary are relayed through a focusing unit for further information transport or for reprocessing as a broadband light beam.
