<p>A security system for electronic commerce. A medium such as a credit card or a cash card which enables commerce, other than cash, is marked with a pattern specific to the medium. An identification number specific to the medium by the patterns is collated with information stored in the magnetic data of the medium to judge the authenticity of the medium. Therefore, fraudulent acts cannot be committed even if the ID number, personal identification number, etc. of the credit card or cash card is grasped, and the unauthorized use of a credit card cannot be committed even if it is counterfeited.</p> |
