Packaging for a product comprising a first layer of a flexible, shrinkable film (12) and a second layer of a nonwoven fabric (14) secured to said film (12) for engaging the product and maintaining the film away from the product, said film (12) being responsive to heat to shrink into a rigid shell substantially conforming to the shape of the product, said nonwoven fabric (14) supporting the shell off of the product during and after shrinking of the film (12) and absorbing impact forces applied to the shell to thereby protect the product from said impact forces.
