The device for the transporting of loads has a step board (44) which is detachably and/or hinge-attached to the chassis (10) and located parallel with the ground, and a scooter (12) having at least one additional wheel (42) on its end furthest from the chassis. The scooter has a frame (40) of tubular or profiled sections supporting the step board and which extends from the wheels as far as the bearing point on the chassis. The chassis has a holding and steering handle, or handlebars (34).
