A kit and a method for cleaning a socket connection terminal; the kit, wherein a rubbing member (110) having a thickness, at a portion sandwiched between the pressing surface of a pusher (30) and the connection terminal (43) of a socket (40), set approximately the same as that of the lead (2a) of an IC chip sandwiched between the pressing surface of the pusher (30) and the connection terminal (43) of the socket (40) and having at least a rough surface coming into contact with the connection terminal (43) of the socket (40) is stored in an insert (16) in place of the IC chip (2), and the insert (16) having the rubbing member (110) stored therein is detachably installed in the socket (40); the method, comprising the step of pressing the pusher (30) against the connection terminal (43) of the socket (40) one or several times at a specified stroke by using a pusher driving device installed in an electronic part tester (10) or manually to bring the rubbing member (110) into contact with the connection terminal (43) of the socket (40), whereby the connection terminal (43) of the socket (40) can be easily cleaned without damaging the connection terminal (43) of the socket (40).
