PURPOSE: A soft combine applying method for a hybrid ARQ(HARQ) in an asynchronous mobile communication system is provided, which applies a soft combine in a real system used to correspond to a channel error efficiently. CONSTITUTION: In a transmitter unit, a normal coding procedure is performed as to an initial transport, and a coding in a transport block unit is performed only in case of re-transport. That is, it is judged whether a transport block(TB) before coding is re-transported or not in the transmitter unit(S201). If it is a re-transport block, the transport block is coded in a transport block unit(S202) without being concatenated with other transport block. If it is an initial transport block, a general coding procedure is performed(S203). After the above coding, the coding block is multiplexed(S204) and a physical channel is mapped and then it is transported to a receiver unit(S205).
