The present invention aims to enable image attribute discrimination of an image indicative of compressed data, and hence correction processing on the image indicative of the compressed data. In attaining the aim, the compressed data are developed to a bit map by a method corresponding to the analysis results so that the correction processing will be performed on the bit map according to the attribute of the image identified on the basis of the analysis results.
