<p>A pipe coupling (10) for transverse connection of a drainpipe (12) to a concrete sewer pipe (14) of larger relative diameter. The coupling (10) has a hollow, longitudinally extending cylindrical body (16) with first (18) and second (20) ends and interior and exterior surfaces (22, 24). The body (16) has an external locating shoulder (26), on the exterior surface (24), integral with the body (16) and extending outwardly therefrom. The external locating shoulder (26) limits penetration of the coupling (10) in an opening in a sidewall of the concrete pipe (14). The body (16) also has an internal groove (32) on the interior surface (22), located at a same longitudinal spacing as the external locating shoulder (26). The internal groove (32) receives an internal sealing ring (34) for creating a seal between the drainpipe (12) and the body (16) when the drainpipe (12) is inserted. The body (16) further has an external recess (36) on the exterior surface (24), longitudinally spaced from the external locating shoulder (26), the external recess (36) receiving an external sealing ring (38) for creating a seal between the body (16) and the concrete pipe (14) when the coupling (10) is inserted into the opening (28).</p> |
