The brush frame (4) is moved in a substantially vertical direction using a lifting mechanism comprising a vehicle with an extendible mast construction (3). The brush frame is mounted on this mast. The device is used to clean substantially vertical surfaces and comprises a frame with at least one brush (7) rotatable about its length axis. The brush frame is moved in a vertical direction by a lifting mechanism. An Independent claim is also included for a method for cleaning a wall using the above device.
