PURPOSE: A gain fixing flat optical amplifier for an optical communication system is provided to uniformly maintain the density inversion of an amplifier according to the change of an input signal, automatically fix a gain, and perform gain flatness for broadening a signal band to increase transmission capacity. CONSTITUTION: A gain fixation amplifying unit(100) receives an optical signal and fixes a gain so that an input signal has a same output according to a channel. The second isolator(22) passes the signal light inputted from the gain fixation amplifying unit(100) and blocks a light inputted from an opposite direction. A gain flatness filter(51) receives the signal of the second isolator(22) and flatly changes a shape of an output gain spectrum. A post amplifying unit(200) amplifies the signal of the gain flatness filter(51).
