PURPOSE: A transmission control unit of a manual transmission is provided to improve the shift feeling, to lengthen the life span of a transmission, and to reduce a noise by preventing the forcible speed change without the complete step force of a clutch pedal. CONSTITUTION: A transmission control unit of a manual transmission comprises a variable sensor(53) installed in a clutch pedal(51) to sense the step force of the clutch pedal, an ECU(Electronic Control Unit)(55) to generate a holding signal when an engine speed is low and the clutch pedal is not completely stepped on, and a control unit(60) to hold a shift lever(57) in the neutral range by the holding signal outputted from the ECU.
