The invention relates to an airbag unit (12) of an occupant restraint system for motor vehicles. Said unit essentially consists of an airbag housing (1), a diffuser chamber (3), a gas generator (2) and an airbag, which is arranged inside the housing (1) and which is filled by the gas generator (2) in the event that the airbag system is triggered. The number of assembly steps is hereby reduced and the diffuser chamber (3) is guaranteed to be reliably sealed.
