PURPOSE: Provided is a sequin head for an embroidery machine which contains a drive mechanism to operate a feeding apparatus for feeding a sequin ribbon and a cutting apparatus for cutting sequins from the sequin ribbon. CONSTITUTION: In a sequin head(11) for an embroidery machine, an operation of a feed(17) of a sequin ribbon(19) is achieved though a connecting rod(31) connected to a swirl part(27), an operation of a blade(47) for cutting sequins(61) from the sequin ribbon is achieved through a lever inserted into an outer curve of the swirl part. The sequin head has a pneumatic control unit with a piston return spring regulating the clutch lever and drive. The ribbon feed has a ratchet wheel engaging with a ratchet on the drive rod. Sequin dispensers may be mounted side-by-side.
