The self-supporting panel consists of at least two interconnected sub-panels (2-6) of natural fibers, and has reinforcing elements (10-13). Each sub-panel is compressed. The sub-panels may be different in shape, cross section and material. The natural fibers for the construction of the sub-panels are impregnated to combat mould and rotting and as fireproofing. The self-supporting panel is provided with a tongue and groove connecting facility. An Independent claim is included for a procedure for the manufacture of a self-supporting panel.
