The invention relates to a method for continuously casting a metal strip (7) having a thickness of between 1 and 10 mm, especially a steel strip, between two coolable, radially interspersed casting rollers (6) in the form of a mould which can be moved in a rotating manner. Said casting rollers define a casting gap (11) between each other, and the front sides of the casting rollers (6) comprise adjustable sealing elements (8). In order to optimise the seal, the front-sided sealing elements (8) are displaced along an approximately vertical plane in the casting direction, the displacement being superposed by an oscillating movement. Especially oscillating displacement means are provided therefor.
