<p>A robotic tool changer (14) for the transfer of secondary current across a master module (14a) and a tool module (14b). The electrical contacts on the two modules comprise a pair of contacts (100, 200) with a flat plate for electrical contact and a vertical connector tab (100b, 200b) for connection to a cable. The contacts on the master module may connect directly to a kickless cable terminal and are cooled by a water cooling system of the cable. When the master and tool modules are mated, the tool module contacts are biased to assume a spaced apart relationship relative to the master module contacts by springs (214). An actuator (300) engages the tool module contacts and moves them an the extended position to a retracted position, where they abut the fixed master module contacts and establish electrical conductivity across the tool changer.</p> |
