<p>The invention concerns a method for enhancing the colour of minerals, for example stones in particular precious or semi-precious stones, without radioactive treatment, which consists in successively exposing said minerals to a beam (22) of accelerated electrons, gradually cooled in a gaseous medium, cooled to a lower temperature in a liquid medium, and drained, for example by being carried in baskets (14) of a rotary carousel (1); repeating said cycle a predetermined number of times according to the desired spectrophotometric characteristics for said minerals.
