The method involves distinguishing at least one part of as sensor that cannot be distinguished by a first identification by the use of at least one further identification in accordance with a known method. This enables tree structure identification of a sensor group, sensor type and individual sensor, whereby the depth of the tree structure can varied for each sensor, but at least one sensor has a depth of two.
